The updated 2027 GLE SUV lineup uses standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive and offers four-cylinder, six-cylinder, plug-in hybrid, V8, and Mercedes-AMG® configurations. The GLE 500e 4MATIC® and Mercedes-AMG® GLE 53e HYBRID are new additions to the U.S. lineup.

The 2026 GLE lineup includes a rear-wheel-drive entry model, multiple 4MATIC® SUVs, a plug-in hybrid, a V8 model, and two Mercedes-AMG® performance configurations.
The 2025 GLE gives buyers a choice between rear-wheel drive, 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, plug-in hybrid power, V8 performance, and AMG® engineering.
The refreshed 2024 GLE added mild-hybrid technology to the GLE 350 and introduced the GLE 450e plug-in hybrid. The lineup also retained six-cylinder, V8, and Mercedes-AMG® choices.
The 2023 GLE lineup includes rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive GLE 350 models, an electrified inline-six, a V8-powered GLE 580, and two Mercedes-AMG® configurations.
The 2022 GLE offers four-cylinder, six-cylinder, V8, and Mercedes-AMG® powertrains. Both rear-wheel-drive and 4MATIC® versions of the GLE 350 were available.
The GLE 350 is the four-cylinder option and offers the choice of rear-wheel drive or 4MATIC® all-wheel drive on applicable model years. It provides the core GLE cabin, technology, cargo room, and available third-row seating.
The GLE 450 adds six-cylinder power and standard 4MATIC®. The GLE 450e and GLE 500e combine a gasoline engine with an electric motor for higher combined torque and limited electric driving capability.
The GLE 580 provides V8 power without the full AMG® treatment. Mercedes-AMG® GLE models add AMG®-specific engines, drivetrains, suspension tuning, brakes, displays, and exterior details.
